CommissionedCode
Private software · built to order

Tell us what should exist. We design it, build it, and keep it running.

Bespoke internal tools, dashboards, reporting systems and automations for owner-led businesses, built directly at fixed prices. Small builds start around £1,500. No agency overhead, no discovery decks, no five-figure proposal before anything's real.

The brief

The rough shape

Key decisions to make

The next step

A first sketch, not a quote. Real numbers come from a short paid scope: written spec, fixed price, credited in full against the build.
What can be commissioned

If it's a recurring chore or a fragile spreadsheet, it can be a tool.

Internal tools & dashboards

Replace the spreadsheet only one person understands with a private tool the whole team can use.

Job trackers, quoting tools, client portals, operations dashboards.

Automations & connected workflows

End the monthly copy-paste ritual. Data moves between the systems you already use, on a schedule, without anyone pressing a button.

Invoice consolidation, data syncs, scheduled jobs, alerts.

Data & reporting systems

Management reports that build themselves from your exports, your SharePoint and your accounting system, landing in your inbox looking finished.

KPI tracking, monthly board packs, automated report generation.

Private web & mobile applications

A focused application for your business or your clients: password-protected, deployed, and entirely yours to keep.

Client portals, booking systems, specialist calculators.

WordPress & Shopify, run properly

Your site or store is the business, but keeping it updated, integrated and automated shouldn't be your job. Order flows connected to your back office, catalogue and pricing automations, custom functionality your theme can't do, and someone accountable when a plugin update breaks at 9am.

Shopify order & fulfilment automation, WordPress care & custom development, store–accounting integrations.
The difference

You get the thing built. You skip everything around it.

Direct to the builder

You explain the idea once, to the people building it, not to an account team who relay it down a chain.

Real work, immediately

No discovery decks, no change-request paperwork, no proposal in the tens of thousands before a single screen exists.

Everything handled, everything yours

Hosting, integrations, deployment, upkeep: done for you. You never touch any of it, and you own all of it.

Fixed prices, in writing

Agreed before work starts. 50% to begin, 50% on delivery. Scope changes are quoted, never smuggled into the bill.

Ways to work together

Four doors in. Fixed prices behind each one.

Most projects start with a Scope Day. Ongoing support runs on reserved capacity. You can stop after any step, and everything built is yours.

SCOPE

The Scope Day

£395 · credited in full against your build

One working day on your idea. We take it apart, strip out what you don't need, define the screens and workflow, and hand you a written spec with a fixed price to build it. If you go ahead, the £395 comes off the build.

  • The real problem, defined in writing
  • Screens, workflow and technical approach
  • A fixed build quote, no obligation

Larger or uncertain projects get a fuller Blueprint (£750–£950), scoped the same way.

BUILD

The Commissioned Build

from £1,500 · typically £3,500 – £7,500 · 1–4 weeks

The thing itself, built and deployed. A dashboard, a private app, a reporting system, an automation that ends a recurring chore. Fixed price, agreed functionality, short correction period after launch.

  • Designed, built, deployed
  • 50% to begin, 50% on delivery
  • Yours to keep entirely, code included

RETAIN

Reserved Capacity

from £550 / month · most choose 2 days at £1,000

Reserved days each month from the people responsible for the work, for businesses that need regular technical execution without hiring. Priorities agreed at the start of each month, one active request at a time.

  • Reports, dashboards & data cleanup
  • SharePoint & Microsoft 365 automation
  • WordPress & Shopify care and improvements
  • Integrations & keeping systems healthy

Booked monthly. Response within 1–2 business days. Not an emergency line; a reliable one.

Reserve capacity →
TAKE OVER

The Technical Takeover

from £750 · credited against the work that follows

Inherited software, a WordPress site or a Shopify store from a developer who's moved on? We inspect everything: code, hosting, dependencies, backups, ownership. We fix the most urgent problems we find along the way, and hand you a clear picture of what you actually own.

  • Full access & codebase review
  • Urgent issues fixed, not just listed
  • Risks & recommendations in writing

Move onto Reserved Capacity afterwards and the takeover fee is credited against your first month. Larger remedial work is quoted separately, and the report is yours to act on with anyone.

COMMISSION

The Bespoke Commission

scoped individually · for work that doesn't fit a card

Some things don't arrive as a tidy brief: a product you want built and operated, a system spanning several of the categories above, a longer engagement, something confidential. Those start with a conversation, get a Blueprint, and are priced on the work itself: the same fixed-price discipline, at whatever size the work honestly is.

Studio work

We build and run our own products. Commissions get the same treatment.

These are live products designed, built, shipped and maintained by this studio, the clearest proof of how commissioned work gets handled.

RedactProof

Documents shared outside a business often leak more than intended. RedactProof handles redaction that actually removes the data, not just draws a box over it.

  • Document processing & privacy engineering
  • Secure handling of sensitive files
  • Production deployment & upkeep
Studio product · live

11.Football

A focused football product built end to end: data in, clean experience out. The same shape as most reporting and dashboard commissions.

  • Live data pipelines
  • Fast, clean interfaces
  • Runs itself on a schedule
Studio build · live

rafflehomes.co.uk

A complete public-facing platform: entries, payments and draws handled end to end. The same machinery behind client portals and commissioned ecommerce automation.

  • Secure payments & customer accounts
  • Built to run unattended at scale
  • Deployed, monitored, maintained
A deliberate fit

Capacity is limited on purpose. Here's what fits.

Good commissions

  • One clear decision-maker
  • One bounded first version
  • A real business or personal outcome
  • A process that's painful every week
  • Direct access to whoever's commissioning it

Not a fit

  • General IT support & device management
  • Enterprise procurement processes
  • Unlimited availability arrangements
  • Safety-critical systems
  • Committees without an owner
For agencies & consultancies

Get enquiries you can't fulfil? Send them here.

The technical execution layer behind other firms.

Design studios, marketing agencies, accountants and consultancies regularly get asked for things outside their lane: a bespoke tool, a reporting system, an automation, a system their client inherited from a vanished developer.

Send those our way. We scope honestly, quote fixed prices, deliver directly, and never go after your client relationship. You stay the trusted adviser; we're the workshop. If a project isn't right, we'll say so rather than take it.

Talk about referrals

If you can describe it, it can exist.

Send a line about what you've got in mind. If it's a fit, the first step is a £395 Scope Day, and you'll have a written spec and a fixed price before you commit to anything.
